2008 TREASURES OF THE GYPSY CHALLENGE

Again this incredible exhibit of dolls will debut at the International Quilt Market and Festival in Houston, Texas jointly sponsored by some of the leaders of the industry:  Janome America, Bernina of America, elinor peace bailey, Westminster Fibers, P&B Fabrics, Fairfield Processing, Camp Doll U, Ogier Trading Company, just to name a few of the many generous sponsors.  And of course, Treasures of the Gypsy whose concept the exhibit has been.  So Gypsy Pamela and her Consort Ken invite you once again to share the mysteries of the "Journey of the Gypsy" with the world.  We feel that this exhibit will again be "fabulous", "spectacular", and surpass all that has come before!!!!!!!

Your participation fee will cover the shipping of exotica from around the world to spark your gypsy creativity.  Use these trinkets and trims plus things of your own choosing to create a doll that will speak to our theme.  International Quilt Festival at the George Brown Convention center in Houston, Texas will host our exhibit along with Sulky and Hoffman Challenge.  Again the dolls will be a central attraction along with the most beautiful quilt show in the world and many elaborate and beautifully made garments.  Winners of the challenge will be announced at Houston Quilt Festival.  The “Best of Show” doll will receive $300.00 worth of Treasure from the Gypsy and the three judges' choice awards will receive $30.00 worth of Treasure.  Again there will be the “Gypsy’s Choice” award!!!!!!!  Quilt Festival is a consumer show so you can be present there too.  As the event nears see www.quilts.com for more information about Festival.  Doll making classes will be offered at Festival as well.  Can you stand the excitement?!!!

The dolls will be due by October 5, 2008.  The dates of Market and Festival are 10/24 - 27/2008 and 10/29 - 11/2, 2008.  Your dolls will be received at the home of Liz Dusek, 15123 Cypress Ridge, Cypress, Texas 77429, tel. 281-376-9189 of THE MATERIAL GIRLS.  When you receive your treasures you will also receive an envelope with two labels, one with Liz’s address and yours as a return address, and one return label.  THESE LABELS MUST BE USED.  You must also include (1) return shipping and insurance for your doll or, as before, your dolls will be held for ransom until the return shipping is received.  NO PACKING MATERIAL other than BUBBLE WRAP OR FOAM RUBBER IS ACCEPTED, and please go easy on the tape.
